Laura Evonne Steinman, Community Artist, has worked with people of all ages facilitating artmaking in schools, community centers, neighborhood backyards, religious institutions, senior centers, orphanages, and hospitals. She believes that lives are nurtured and transformed by creating art together. Laura received her BFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and her Master of Art in Art Education (MAAE) with a Concentration in Community Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).
She had been living in Warsaw, Poland since 2002 and for 5 years was offering 'artshops' to people of all ages -- volunteering, making books, painting murals, collaging with paper, chalking, and was the Teaching Artist at The British School in Warsaw for 2 years. Currently she is living in Boston, sewing a bunch of "Colorful Matters" using recycled remnants and working as a studio assistant for "Reclaimed Wool".
